LAS VEGAS (AP) — Kevin Dubrow, lead singer for the 1980s heavy metal band Quiet Riot that scored a hit with "Cum on Feel the Noize," was found dead in a Las Vegas home. He was 52. The cause was not immediately known.
A neighbor summoned police and paramedics Sunday to the house where he was pronounced dead, police and coroner's officials said.
There was no forced entry, and no suspicious circumstances were reported, police Officer Jose Montoya said Monday.
Quiet Riot was perhaps best known for its 1983 cover of "Cum on Feel the Noize." The song, featuring Dubrow's powerful, gravelly voice, appeared on the band's album "Metal Health" — which was the first by a metal band to reach No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
DuBrow recorded his first solo album in 2004, "In for the Kill," and the band's last studio CD, "Rehab," came out in October 2006.
"I can't even find words to say," Quiet Riot drummer Frank Banali wrote on his Web site. "Please respect my privacy as I mourn the passing and honor the memory of my dearest friend Kevin DuBrow."
Determination of the cause of death was pending an autopsy and toxicology results, Clark County coroner's spokeswoman Samantha Charles said.

metal health was the first metal record in my collection - i'm sure it brought alot of others to world of metal too. i listened to it everyday for months while picking out riffs on my acoustic and played it loud when my parents weren't home. thanks for the metal kevin \m/

I was listening their version of "Cum on Feel the Noize" just last night. I hadn't heard that version for months. Strange irony...

Sold him some brake pads and rotors for his Lincoln Towncar about 10 years ago. The owner of the shop next door to my parts store used to be in bands and knew Kevin, so he was working on his car for him.

RIP

What a sad lose. I saw them in the US Festival. Have some good pictures too. I still like their music and every now then I plop on the record. I love that song Slick Black Cadillac. A few months ago I was surfin the web and saw some newer vid's of them/him. Looked like he put on a few pounds compared to his young skinny days in the 80's. If anybody hears autopsy results, please post. RIP Kevin.

I can't believe how many people die from that stuff and others still do it in large quantities, or any quantities. Weed is ok though, no one's died from that, that I know of.

I was on their sound crew once when they did a club show locally, he seemed like a decent guy but he was definitely snorting a lot in the dressing room. Too bad...
