Never been a fan of Ripper owens. But I haven't heard a lot. These samples are no different :sad:
These high vocal bits in the reckoning sound shit!

Will have to wait till the full ones, but unfortunately my mind is saying "what if barlow...". Stupid brain!

Sounds quite good to me. Better than both Horror Show and Jugulator.. The Reckoning Chorus is a little too 'power-metalish' though.

Ripper sounds awesome! The only problem with The Reckoning is that crappy Horror Show-ish chorus.

Ripper's screeching vocals are brilliant!

I don't think I like IE as much as I think I do. I really like SWTWC and HS, but that's really all that stands out. The other albums are just kinda samey, and I can't think of anything that really shines. Maybe I should just listen to them a few more times. But the point I'm getting to, is that these new songs are the same way. They're quite servicable, but I'm not going to get them stuck in my head. In fact, I just listened to them and I can't remember them. Oh well.

I agree, that's how I found Horror Show to be especially.

I like Stormrider and Burnt Offerings the best coz they are different.

I dont understand why Horror Show is so disliked, I really like it. Its perhaps my favourite IE cd, I must see something others dont in it I guess.

Though I can see what you mean Phloggy, and I would say I could pick 3 or 4 brilliant songs from each album and put them on to one cd, and that would be the best, most IE albums have 2 or 3 filler songs, 2 or 3 pretty good songs and 4 or so masterpieces !

Still dont like this new stuff though, Rippers amazing vocals wise, and im glad he is in the band, but the choruses suck, as do the lyrics pretty much, I expected better. But then I said the same when the Horror Show samples were posted so who knows, I dont expect to like those 3 songs though.

Oh and for anyone who loves Judas Priest, go and buy Heart Of A Killer by Winters Bane, its Rippers previous band and he takes Halford to school on what high notes and singing really is, its amazing !

I agree with Troops in that the songs weren't as catchy. "Wicked" was much catchier and is still my favourite. I liked "Horror Show" when it first came out, but now I always skip over it for something else.

'Burnt Offerings' is my fav IE album, and one of my all time fav albums, and I would probably put 'Dark Saga', NOTS and SWTWC before 'Horror Show', but I still love it and think its great. At first I thought HS had heaps of filler stuff, but the more I listen the more I like. 'The Phantom Opera Ghost' is one of my fav IE songs, absolutely brilliant!

After listening to the 3 clips a few more times, they aren't that bad actually, and starting to grow on me, but I still don't think its that great compared to other IE stuff.
