New band on the scene, you'll have seen their first live performance if you went to the Bloodstock Xmas Gig last year.

R2A includes 3 string-slinging ex members of BLAZE: John Slater, Steve Wray and Rob Naylor. The drummer and singer are also from a band called ninedenine.

Check out the websites if you're interested! Rise to Addiction and ninedenine

The singer and drummer from ninedenine have only recently joined so the sample audio and videos from the R2A site are of the previous singer and drummer.

Here's the latest news from their website, their first London gig, FREEBIE ALERT!:
Rise To Addiction will make their debut appearance in London at the Camden Underworld on Wednesday 13th July. Tickets will cost only £4 if purchased via this website where you'll receive an RTA flyer and a Rise To Addiction sticker. The band have also offered a free t-shirt for every pair of tickets purchased. They are urging fans old and new to come and support them.

Says John 'If the evening becomes a success then you can be sure of seeing a lot more of us in and around the capitol. We already have promoters keeping a very close eye on our progress and are keen to work with us in the very near future so this is a very important opportunity for us. We know we have great support out there and this is one of those times we all have to go out in force'.

Apologies for the major spam stylee plugging but they need all the help they can get so i thought i'd spread the word. As you can imagine they're similar in style to BLAZE really, not power metal but good ol' heavy metal, but a bit different..... Judge for yourself, i'm never good at pidgeon-holing!!

I keep forgetting to buy the EP :erk: of course I'm very interested in what the BLAZE guys are up to...

last years big bash will be on the DVD, ie the 2004 one, not this one, sorry dude!!

i was one of the many fans to be 'interviewed' for the DVD, ie the people walking round before the gig with cameras came up to me and asked me what the music meant to me and stuff.

I hope to GOD that they don't use it on the DVD cos i could barely hear what the camera woman was saying so i kept leaning in to hear better, and basically just saying... erm.. i like his music cos he makes great songs... *dies of shame*
