I'll admit I haven't listened to the whole album but I can't see how can anyone compare it with the "good" (1986-94 era) queensryche.

The singer does sound pretty good though.

I completely agree, but it's clearly better than anything they've put out in almost two decades (over two decades for me personally) so that has to count for something

Also I'd include 1983's EP and 1984's The Warning in your range of classic QR albums and while many like Promised Land, it really is not in my list of favorite QR albums so my range would be 1983 - 1990 (Original QR EP - Empire).

I have listened to it a few times now and I think it is a solid good record! Not quite there compared to the classics, but still very good. Nice "comeback"
