Hi there,

Wanted to share with you a band i've recently mixed.
Mix only, didnt record them.

The guitars is JCM 800 w. Marshall Greenbacks ---> sm 57
Drums where recorded on a SSL board.
Dont have that much info on the vocals.

Think I did a good joob, drums in particular :headbang:
I would probably have recorded the guitars with a different sound, I think
they sit well in the mix, but a little scooped, but I think i did the best with the material in hand.

Tried 2 new plugins that i can highly recommend, if you havent heard of em.

RedLine Reverb : http://www.112db.com/ ---> Really good, cheap reverb.
And Masseys Tapehead: http://www.masseyplugins.com --> Added some not desired mids, but took that away with eq, deffenetly added some punch.

I would gladly answer any questions regarding the mix:
Song name: Dont Ask

Sounds awesome. Samples of snare would be MUCH appreciated, they sound great. Only thing I'd change would be the EQ of the kick.. its a little slappy. Needs some cuts around 1kish I think.

bass is going "booom" on some particular notes. other than that great mix & song.

Ok Thnks for the response. Updated the mix btw.

I think the Kick actually causes the mix to go Boom. Putted a C4 on to get rid of that.

Yes, the guitars are thin but the problems lies in the recordings not in the mix, they didnt sound that good to
begin with. Btw i didnt record the band, only mix ;)

The snare consist of 3 different samples + Original Snare mic.
Sorry but i cant share the samples cause i paid for em, sorry.
One snare is a Slate, for fatness. Another one for that "Ringy" sound.
And the third for attack/punch.

Anyone else??

Cheers
