I'm not sure if this belongs in the Lounge, but has anyone heard of this new musical? I'd love to see this!

It was up for the Tony for Best Musical. It had no chance against a musical penned by Elton John.

But I would like to see it, too. Their performance at the Tony Awards was excellent.

Count me in as someone who would like to see this as well. Sounds really cool.

The wife found this when it was still off-broadway, and she was so excited that we had to go see it (she was a big 80's hair band fan). We saw it in a tiny theater, front row seats, for $28. It was corny, hokey, and lots of fun - just like the 80's. Almost all of the cast we saw shifted to Broadway, which is pretty cool. I can't imagine how well it translates to the big stage because I would have never guessed it would make it to the big leagues, but it was fun for the amount of money we spent. If you're in the mood for well done hair band karaoke with a thin story surrounding it, or if you need a reminder of the 80's, check it out.
