Rock School

Missed the first epsoide, saw it this week, gee one of those kids is a musical genuis Drums and Guitar... he got the Druming spot. good to see that young lass got the lead Guitar though.

Although they stated that Kiss wrote "God gave Rock'n Roll to you" which Mr Simmons performed at the School mass, I thought it was written by Rod Argent of a 70's 80's band ARGENT.
Trixx your're the resident Kiss expert plaese clarify...

It was in fact written by Russ Ballard, who was a member of the band Argent.

Paul, Gene and Bob Ezrin re-arranged the song before recording it for the Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey soundtrack in 1991. Eric Carr sang backup vocals on it and appeared in the video (his last performance) but Eric Singer played drums.

Oh, and the original song blows goats compared with the KISS version, but anyone with half an ear can tell that...

Yeah the writing credits go to Stanley, Simmons, Ezrin & Ballard because although it was originally a song by Argent, they COMPLETELY changed and reworked it. It's pretty much a completely different song with the same chorus... Also why they titled it "God Gave Rock & Roll To You II", it's more a sequel than a remake haha! So it's pretty fair to say that KISS wrote God Gave Rock & Roll To You II...

I was going to watch it, but didn't know what time it was on.

Next week perhaps.

(Do you ever get the feeling like you're making the most pointless post ever?)

Gene Simmons acts and talks like a bit of a toss in that show. But then again, it is reality TV so I guess that's what he's like in real life :)
