They should rename that fest, it's not the same anymore.

Eh, it's still rock, and I doubt anyone is going to buy tickets on the brand name alone without checking out the roster.

That's cool. I sure would like to take a road trip to this, but I'm not sure if it's realistic at this point. I'm going to give it some serious thought though.

As we live less than an hour way from Merriweather (actually will be 5 minutes from it today), we got our VIP seats on Friday's presale. Should be a rockin' show. I didn't look, is that the only show or is it a tour?

Agreed, but you would think that if they were going to change it so much, then they'd give the people that already plunked down $$$ for VIP tickets the chance to get a refund since it's not all what they originally signed up for.

I absolutely agree with you. The last two years we played, the main stage was the draw, many bands you know were playing. And we on the side stages benefited from the audience who was willing to give us a listen. A bit of the bands your seeing listed that you don't know of are on the Retrospective label. That is not a slam to the label as they are like many smaller labels and just want to get their bands heard. But listing them like that , IMO, isn't a great move as those bands are just a list of names to many. I would have loved to seen HW listed in the main roster as a featured act, but we were under no delusions that the people who plopped down their dough for the fest came for the headliners, not a side stage act. Having siad that, i hope Retrospective draws a good crowd, Sam works hard and it would be nice to see his label grow.

Scorpions are touring, but that festival lineup is unique.
