I was definately there. I got the autographed Nevermore album to prove it. 
Oh yeah and Im pissed that Symphony X wasn't able to play for whatever reasons. I was looking forward to seeing their set.

SymX's bus broke down somewhere is why I heard they didn't make it.
I wasn't crazy about nevermore starting right when we arrived, or about half of DT's and Megadeth's sets, but it was still a lot of fun! Good to see everyone. Paul, I want a copy of that picture of us with Loomis.

DT owned the place...heavy & loud as hell! Petrucci,Portnoy,Myung & Rudess all kicked ass...Labrie nailed the high notes with ease. It was too bad Symph X didn't show...they would've been laid to waste too.
Nevermore was good...1st time to see them live.
Fear Factory used their time well...The frontman can work it.
Life of Agony...when the singer were announcing themselves in the middle of their set he said they had been at it for 13 years....someone in the audience yelled "you need to work on it"...that pretty much sums them up.
Megadeth...ummm the pyro was fun...l'll leave it at that.
The Dillinger Escape Plan...lol damn...the novelty of the evening. These guys came out looking like a teenage garage band & then proceeded to rip through some shit that l'm still trying to absorb. They were definitely pissed about something. l wasn't sure what it was until the lead guitar player dropped kicked the singer. Then later smacked him with the mic stand. Therapy could probably do them some good.

I just spoke to Russ on the phone. Their bus driver is alive, but he is in an Intensive Care Unit due to Leukemia. The band truly regrets missing the Atlanta show, but their thoughts and prayers do go out to their bus driver towards getting better. This is a situation that was beyond the band's control. They did make every effort to get to the show but the substitute bus driver did not arrive in time for them to make it happen.
That was about all I could get out of Russ for the moment. Seems they were getting ready to go on stage when he took the call.

Thanks, Glenn F., for that update. We'd been told at the show, first by the tour manager (? the older guy who was announcing stuff from the stage) and then by Jeff Loomis, but I was too busy yesterday to post it. A lot of people were wondering if they'd gotten bumped for time reasons.
My understanding is that FF's set was cut short to allow DT to play their full 90 minutes: due to the one stage and the longer set-changes required, they had been cut to 55 minutes, which would have reallllly pissed a lot of people off. (It really looked like 2 out of every 5 people there were wearing a Dream Theater or related t-shirt.) There was also some sort of mess-up with the fan-club laminates (members could buy them for $250 or something, but something went wrong).
I thought it was a good show and pretty well organized, especially compared to Sounds of the Underground.

I had a great time. We arrived around the time DEP come on. That guitar player had fun, huh? Fear Factory won the wife over enough to pickup a $35 Tshirt 
Dream Theater and Megadeth were perfect but I wouldnt have minded tweaking their setlists a little. It's hard to lose when you have those two with such extensive catalogs though.
Pellaz: I was sure I spotted you over by Warrel Dane snapping pix and wanted to come introduce myself ( I know your face from going through your excellent site). By the time I grabbed a drink and a trip to the bathroom, FF come on and we went running. I never saw you again. Maybe next show we can get some BS time, seems we're both true veterans of this type of thing.

Err, that might have been me, but we were standing by Jeff Loomis. My friend Alexi looks a bit like Warrel, though, and indeed, one guy walked up and asked for his autograph.
Anywhere, here are my pics -- mostly fuzzy, because I was shooting from the seats and without the benefit of flash. Just one pic of Nevermore since I was kinda afraid I'd get nailed for having a camera inside, even though the guy at the door had said that small cameras were okay. I noticed a few other cameras in use during Fear Factory's set, so I ramped it up a bit.

Ooops. I made a bad call. Those pix took in the lobby though were taken about the time I made my way to that licquor drink line about halfway back to the Tshirt stand in the middle.
I guess the only time I've 'seen' Warrel Dane was when Sanctuary opened for Megadeth on SO FAR SO GOOD SO WHAT back in '88. The guy in the camo pants is who I thought was him. I guess I need to start paying more attention to my CD booklets.

Those are great pix Paul.... I had a great time... If you don't mind I am going to try to print them out here at work and show them to Loomis next week..... or just email them to him... i think he will like these pics.

I had a real awesome time at the show, I arrived shortly before 5 and just made Nevermore's set. I would have missed them if my wife didnt have to pee so I said hell with it and lets go inside . I think Nevermore is an awesome band and their new album rules...... Thanks to this website I was able to get GA tickets the monday before the show and was right up front for all the bands i wanted to see including only having one person in front of me for Dream Theater. I thought the sound there sucked and I was dissappointed by the crowd turn-out. I am originally from NYC and any concert like this is full of people in NY or NJ, but it was a great time

I wasn't thrilled with the sound either, FWIW. I thought Labrie sounded particularly bad (all I could hear was high-end echoey sort of stuff; coulda been where I was), as did a lot of the guitar for Megadeth... could have been the playing or the sound on that. I was a little too tipsy and not enough of a muso to be able to tell ya.
