Rolling Stone Top 20 Albums of 2013

I bought my first metal album 20 years ago. I consider myself a metalhead. Literally, I had not even heard of any of what Rolling Stone deemed the top 20 metal albums of 2013.

Part of the issue is they picked some stuff that no metalhead calls metal but on that list are Mastodon, Steve Wilson, Dark Throne, Voivod, Cathedral, Clutch, DEP, and Gorguts. All old dude approved. Are you just saying you haven't heard any of these albums?

Why would you care what Rolling Stone thinks? Peter Travers likes literally everything.

Egan, I have heard of the bands you are mentioning and I recognize they are legit metal. But I do not follow them enough to know they had new albums out last year.

Jeff, I do not care about what Rolling Stone thinks. I find it amusing that not one of the top 20 are albums that I bought last year. And I bought quite a few.

Check out the gorguts at least. It's a cool record. I didn't know about the cathedral but I'm interested.
