I've watched the guitar chapter all the way through, and am now convinced that the different volumes that he uses play a massive part in his sound. For instance, i reckon he seems to be coming in on low volume for the main riff at the start of damnation game, and then he puts it up for the rythm bit. I take it this is in order to remove any unwanted string noise or something? I just swear it does. :hotjump:

Any views and opinnions on this would be cool, or if anyone knows more about his technique?

Cheers

rolling back the volume is one of the best ways to clean up your sound especially when your doing stacatto stuff. The notes can come through more sharp & percussive.
