Hey guys,
After I finally treated my room I want to buy a cheap bass guitar to record some instrumental songs.
After a bit of searching I found this one : http://www.rondomusic.com/HXB405NATSPALT.HTML
It's so much sexier (and better?!) than anything in the same pricerange.
But the problem is that I live in germany and I don't know if rondomusic even ships to Europe?!
Does anybody of you, who is from europe (or even germany) have experience with them?
I'm worried about that the shipping would cost so much that I am in a way higher price league in the end.

It really sucks that there's not such a nice shop here in europe. :bah:

Edit: Ew, "Equipment" probably would've been a better place for this one...

I wanted to order there, but just as I had the money together the guitar I wanted was out of stock. :(
But I wrote Kurt and asked. He recommends to buy a case with it. Shipping is around 80 $
Du kannst den Bass auch mal in den Warenkorb legen und anfangen auszuchecken. Irgendwann siehst Du den Betrag. Aber in Deutschland kommen dann ja noch Zoll und Steuern drauf am Ende. Nciht vergessen. :)

They ship to europe, but you have to buy a hardcase (50$). plus comes the shipping expense (I'm guessing around 100 $) and German customs. Unfortunately after all of this, Rondomusic instruments aren't that much of a bargain anymore (they still undoubtebly are, just not as much as originally), plus you have no chance of sending it back if you don't like it or have warantee issues with the instrument. This has kept me from getting a 7 string from them until now.

Your purchase would be around 400 euros according to this calculator right here

Ok that's shit...
350€ is my absolute price limit. Could anybody recommend a good bass guitar, in this pricerange, that I can get here in germany?

Trotzdem danke für die Infos!

ich würd auf ebay vielleicht mal nach gebrauchten yamaha rbx, ibanez soundgear, spector performern oder vllt auch fender/squier instrumenten ausschau halten. :)

Go secondhand and you can easily get a good bass for that kinda money. Keep your eye on ebay and wait for a bargain. My recommendations would be:

Fender P/Jazz
Squier Vintage Modified Jazz & new pickups
Cort Curbow
Ibanez BTB

Danke für die Tipps exoslime! Werde ich aufjedenfall mal durchgucken!

Yea, I'll probably get a good used bass. The thing I am worried about is that all the bass guitars in that pricerange have passive pickups. Is it like with guitars or can I still get a "clanky" aggressive sound without active ones?
Because the bassist of the last band I recroded used some Fender Jazz Bass which was much more expensive than for example the squier and the DIs turned out horrible! Don't know it if maybe was because he didn't hit the strings hard enough?!
He said he put on new strings the day before recording... somehow I just can't believe this. :bah:

Here's the DI http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11343186/Fender Jazz DI.wav

Yeah that totally sounds like dead strings and pussy picking to me!

You can totally get a nice aggressive sound from a bass with passive pickups, it's all down to fresh strings and playing the bass with some aggression.

Get that Squier Jazz Bass or look for something used, I even got my Music Man Sub4 with
a great Ritter gigbag, new strings (good ones) and good batteries in great condition for 360€
