I'll probably go to the one in Los Angeles.

My only wish is that the show does not have any growlers/grunters. Just clean vocals. I don't think anyone would wan to hear Killswitch Engage butcher Holy Diver live etc.

Are you sure NO ONE wants to hear Killswitch Engage? That's silly they have casual fans that listen to traditional metal. I think there are a number of kids that checked out Dio as a result of their cover. Unlike Cooper's appearance on American Idol at least their cover was directed at a rock and metal fan base.

As for the show? I heard about one in Florida and a few in the U.K. nothing about one in L.A. but that would make sense. I'll assume there will be one in New York at some point as well...

Blabbermouth mentioned the shows in one of the Memorial posts. I'm guessing it will be old school all the way. Hughes, Gillan, Queensryche, Shortino etc.

Just curious what Cooper did on A I ? I avoid that show or info about it like the plague and I didnt hear about this yet.

Do a search for the Alice Does Alice thread... I posted the Youtube video on there...

Yeah, thats pretty shameless, I can for some reason deal with the Muppets gig, I guess because it was for kids, kids are cool but participating in the teeny idol kind of thing is shameless.

Yeah they mentioned the LA show at the memorial. So glad I went..what a day. Will definitely be daytripping down there for the show, too.

Would have loved to have gone. But Y&T & Accept in the same month and in different cities. But I will try for the show in LA. I wonder where it will be held?

As I was unable to make it over to the US for any of the official memorials, I decided to throw my own tribute for him at my club
In honour of DIO. His music has music has always gone straight through my heart... \m/

guitarist Tony Iommi announced he and the other surviving members of the band will pay tribute to the group's late singer, Ronnie James Dio, at the High Voltage festival on Saturday, July 24 at Victoria Park in London, U.K. Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice will take to the stage with guest vocalists and perform a 60-minute set of songs in memory of Dio, who sadly lost his fight against stomach cancer last month. Proceeds from their concert will go to the Ronnie James Dio "Stand Up and Shout" Cancer Fund.

GLENN HUGHES, JORN LANDE To Front HEAVEN & HELL At RONNIE JAMES DIO Tribute Concert - June 15, 2010

On May 16, Ronnie James Dio passed away and the world of music mourned the loss of the greatest voice of heavy metal.

Dio was a truly iconic figure in music, whose work with ELF, RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, DIO and most recently, HEAVEN & HELL defined a genre.

HEAVEN & HELL was set to be on the road in Europe this summer when news came through that despite the amazing progress he was making Ronnie wouldn't be well enough to tour and those shows were canceled. But now, remaining members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice are set to play a one-off show to celebrate his life and work. According to Black-Sabbath.com, the band will be completed by Glenn Hughes (BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE) and Jorn Lande (MASTERPLAN) who will both contribute vocals.
