Anybody have any good info/interviews where Ron discusses his philosophy behind solos?

No solo specifically. Solo'ing in general. One thing I like reading about is how a guitarist approaches a solo. For example, Satriani says that the solo should be immediately noticeable and stand out from the song. Some blues guys believe the solo should tell a story. Some believe it should just be sonically interesting. Some believe it should enhance the melody, etc.

From listening to you I'd say you don't have 'one approach.' Some of your 'solos' are more programattic/poetic (in the romantic music sense), some are 'hey this just really sounds cool and gets my blood going!'

I guess its something that I really try to understand the guitar (probably because I play), and really want to know the mindset a performer went in with. So I don't say 'aww so and so was just playing as fast as he could', when the artist might have really been trying to tell a story or something!

How did you go about creating the keys? Is it the result of a new pattern from the basic circle of 5ths or did you create them with the intention of having a particular pattern in them after the key was created.
