Roswell

I agree with derek, the military flipped the whole thing upside down, it was an alien, a flying disc...a weather balloon....failed military experiments....could be just about anything but everyone put so much dirt on it, its hard to tell.

Well it started off with potential, a good looking young cast, a slow building mystery. Sort of an X-files for the teen set. But they revealed too much too fast towards the end of season 1 and then had nothing left to do for the next season, which was just shitty teen drama plots. Jumping ship to UPN did nothing to help them, and the whole mess was mercifully cancelled at the end of season 3, by which time nobody cared.

-UFO crashed for unknown reason
-Military cleaned it up, recovered materials and silenced the civilians
-Military changed their story from "saucer" to "weather balloon"

(After the panic that War of the Worlds caused, I don't blame the military for keeping this quiet).

-Military tried to keep info away from the KGB, etc.
-New technologies surfaced in the market due to reverse engineering of the crash materials.
Some of these technologies include: night vision, lasers, kevlar, and integrated circuits.

Possible truths or lies, who knows. It's still very interesting, though.

Everyone knows who the spacecraft really was, anyway...
