(change faltwound to flatwound..ooops)

Need string advice please.........

I have a 5 string Carruthers CB5/adler wood will be recording Evanescence, Within Temptation style rock. So looking for that low end growl and clarity.

I am about to buy new strings.... called Carruther and he stated that these came with 45-105 and a 130 tapered for the B. So Ill stick with the sizes to make it easier for set up

Any of you recording rock and what strings should I get? Brand and type..roundwound or flatwound??

Get roundwound. Flatwounds will sound really dark and mellow in comparison, which is generally not what you'd want for modern rock bass tones.

Get steel for a longer lasting string with a brighter sound.

Get nickel-plated steel for a slightly warmer sound.

I personally use DR strings for bass, but I haven't used them on a 5 string.
