RUDRA - Brahmavidya: Primordial I

death metal album of the year so far. yes, better than the new Nile

Yes, I concur. It's Dec 15th and I doubt if any other DM release can surpass this in the next 2 weeks.

Anyone have a different DM album of the year contender?

And the new Nile isn't even average anymore, it's below average. It's like Karl Sanders split the interlude sections and death metal sections across 2 CDs....

....in other words, merge "Saurian Meditations" with "Annihilation...." and they would have hit the nail on the head.

Cryptopsy's new album is my Death Metal album of the year. In all honesty though I've only listened to the Rudra album maybe 3 times this year, I guess it didnt grab my attention as much as others.

Forgot about the new Akercocke, still needs more listens from me.
I can see how people can find cryptopsy boring, I just think there wrong as hell. The new one is definetly the craziest thing they've put out, its also the best since None so Vile IMO. Flo Mounier's drumming is probably the highlight of the album, one of the best drummers out there right now, metal or otherwise.

@ IT- Have you heard None so Vile or Blasphemy made flesh? I think you might like those two more than any of there others.

yep, stll DM album of the year for me, though for listens to BOlt Thrower may reveal a new leader. the other two I heard (Nile and Dark Tranq) are forgettable.

I kinda wanna hear the new Hypocrisy
