Not sure who else here loves the band Rush as much as I do, but I'm psyched to see the announcement about a new North American tour set to start this spring. The tour is entitled "The Time Machine Tour "An evening with Rush"" and they will be playing "Moving Pictures" in it's entirety plus several new songs as of yet unreleased combined with other classic material.

I'm a huge Rush fan and really pleased to have them coming to Uncasville, CT (Mohegan Sun Casino) again this tour as they did on the "Snakes & Arrows Tour" - it was a great intimate show since the arena there seats less than 9000 or so - much better than an amphitheater show and the Sun arena has great sound too. Tickets go on sale this week - I'll be going for sure.

So - any other Rush fans out there that are planning to see them this tour?

I'm a huge Rush fan - last time I saw them was in 2004 for their 30th anniversary tour. It's was phenomenal!!

Unfortunately they aren't coming to Charlotte, NC this time around so I'd have to drive to Atlanta to see them :erk:

Being that Rush is one of my favorite bands of all time I'm definitely going. It's really a matter of how many shows as opposed to what show.

Moving Pictures in its entirety is pretty sweet but on the last tour they practically already did this minus The Camera Eye and Vital Signs.

If you ever want to see what it's like to work with consummate professionals in a recording studio - you need to see the short documentary about the making of "Snakes & Arrows" titled "The Game of Snakes & Arrows" that was filmed during the recording sessions - it's about 45 minutes long and it is a pretty detailed account of Rush at Allaire studios in upstate NY (may she RIP - but that's another sad story of a fine studio going the way of the dinosaur) - it's a great film and shows how good they are as musicians and how skilled they are at the art of songwriting. Find it and watch it - you will not be disappointed. I've been grooving out to a lot of Rush the past few days and they simply astound me at times.

I initially read "Bush" in the title...

Rush are a great band, would love to see them live one day. Moving Pictures is one of those records nearing perfection. But even the more simplistic first albums feature some great songs. If I HAD to pick a favourite record, it might even be 'Permanent Waves' (and I just love the production on that one).

Kinda strange, yet very much understandable, that they never reached a comparable level of popularity and success in Europe.

If they're doing different/new stuff I'll definitely go. I skipped the last 2 tours because it was mostly the same stuff in the sets going back to the Test For Echo tours, save for a few new songs. Up to then, I had seen them on every tour since Presto, so I guess it's time to turn into a 14 yr old again and air-drum my ass off for 2+ hours :D

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10:00 am - hopefully I'll get in and get some decent floor seats.

Got my tickets - opted for off the floor, on Alex's side of the stage in the lower section. the venue is a nice small one so all the seats are great. So looking forward to a night of dinner, a little gambling, and a great concert with my wife.

Awesome man, sounds like a great night! I've never seen any shows at Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods, but everyone I know who has been has really enjoyed them. I'll probably hit the September show in Boston.

Love Rush, seen them a few times - just an awesome three piece! Gonna look up that studio docu. mentioned here.
cheers!

..found it on YouTube ...yea

Do a little more searching - the version on Youtube is missing section 2 I believe or maybe section 3 - I found it in it's entirety someplace - unfortunately I'm unsure where. Well worth it.

I got my tickets today for both the Jones Beach show and the PNC Bank Art Center show. I'm debating whether I should buy tickets for a third show. Either Mohegan Sun or Saratoga Springs, NY.
