RUSH

As amazing as they are in the studio, they are so much more amazing live. If you haven't seen them, do yourself a big favor and check them out next time they come near you.

As far as my favorite albums, I would have to say Hemispheres, A Farewell to Kings and Permanent Waves are my favorites, but they all are awesome.

MegaMoose - you really can't go wrong with any Rush album. But if I had to hand out advice to someone who only has 2112 I would say stick to the pre-Signals albums for now (there are 7 more). Kings. Yeah - get Kings. Then Hemispheres, Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures. Oh, don't forget Exit, Stage Left. Then get the pre-2112 stuff.

Welcome to the club...

I've got Moving Pictures & Hemispheres... Amazing band!!!! First got into them from seeing them on the Toronto Rocks DVD. The did an instrumental of Paint it Black which was incredible!!!
What album would be a good one to pick up after Moving Pictures & Hemispheres?

In order:

1)Permanent Waves(kind of new wave prog-sounding...as good as ''Moving Pictures'', almost the same style).

2)2112 Their first ''true'' prog record, only great songs.

3)Fly By Night(THE Hard Rock Rush album), or Signals(the last excellent Rush release imho)

Suffice it to say I have not been listening to this form of music for very long, and there is a lot of "catching up" to do. Therefore, I will have to get to the point when I need to hear some Rush.

Actually where I live noone listens to alot of rock, and then you have the overwhelming alternative/emo/crap scene. But obviously I now listen to Opeth

iosa christ! what is wrong with you~~!
I am 99% positive that Rush has never gotten any radio play where I have lived and that none of my friends have heard of them.

rush has been on the radio since the dawn of time. any classic rock station will play spirit of the radio, or freewill or closer to the heart or especially tom sawyer on a fairly regular basis.
