Rush

Not trying to start anything here, but why do people even pay attention to posts like that. They're clearly just there to provoke exactly those kinds of responses. xD

Also, Fly by Night is okay, but it doesn't measure up to any of the albums from 2112 to Moving Pictures, in my opinion.

You are 100% correct.

However, I do not like Rush, never have and never will. I can not stand Geddy Lee and the best thing about the band IMO is the cover Primus did.

Sorry, I just dont like it. Simple. Does not make me a faggot, idiot or any other funny names you bright sparks can come up with.

yes, let's downplay the fact that they're one of the greatest, most influential, most classic bands of all time just because Lifeson played a solo on PT's shitty little new album

That's fine. And if you'd posted that, it most likely would have provoked more reponse than "gtfo faggot." Sure, there still would have been posts like that because this is UM, but you might have had some intelligent responses as well!

Rush has more talent , integrity and consistancy than 99% of the bands on Ultimate Metal Forum.

The Rush in Rio DVD give me shivers.

Playing with this fire, looseness and cohesion at their age is just incredible.
Plus, south american crowds are the best in the world.

Just compare Rush in Rio with Rush 30 in Germany. In the latter, you can almost here the audience snoring.
In Brazil, they sing along every word and guitar, bass melodies or Peart tom fills.

They have too many legendary albums and songs under their belts so a good idea to discover them is to buy their live albums which are most of the time fantastic ( Rush studio is great but a bit cold to me soundwise)

Rush : Different Stages (1998)
Rush : In Rio, DVD (2003)
Rush : Exit, Stage, Left (1981)
Rush : A Show of Hands (1989)

All great to discover Rush at different stages of their carreer.

The latest studio album is great with a serenity that says : we play sophisticated rock better than anyone else.
