Sabaton- Uprising!

42 is the answer to everything.

And many of the greatest albums were around 35-42 minutes.

After years of ardous research I have found the ultimate question.... How many pounds is a curling stone? 42.

I am not sure anyone else is picking up on the reference here... :u-huh:

I kinda thought to myself they're a band like Iron Savior. They have a specific sound, and it works for them, and I don't care that there is very little progression. The songs remain interesting and very fun.

Also, if you multiply the total length of every single Petrucci solo and divide it by the number of concerts Sabaton played last year, you'll get that exact number: 42. Also, if I recall correctly, it was 42 times that Glenn posted about the non-digital camera rule at ProgPower.

"This will never happen again in our lifetimes." :heh:

There's a method to the madness. Cheiron is 100% correct. 42 is THE number.

Nahh, y'all are really hoopy froods who always know where your towels are.

Meanwhile...... Sabaton never appeared in The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy.
Discuss. :)

This is not a bad thing but this band takes the phrase "every song sounds the same" to a new level. Enjoyable and a fun listen (especially live) but no growth whatsoever.

While a lot of their songs have a similar feel, I wouldn't say all their songs sound the same. They have different speed songs, at least on the previous one they did. They do stick to a formula on most though, but I don't think they need to change it up. If anything if they did, it wouldn't turn out well.

Please don't remind me of them. The only progpower performance that felt like nails on a chalkboard for me.

I think Sabaton can get away with repeating themselves given that the most interesting thing about them is the lyrics, at least if you're a history/war buff.

The song 40-1 off a previous album, I hadn't even heard of that battle so I had to look it up.

I am innocent in this regard except for openly and completely mocking Piece of Shit.

I'll hold onto the evidence to protect you. They have gotten a lot of fans around here since the first time they played ProgPower. At the time, everyone was like, "who?"
