Sabbath & Judas Priest fans

Hello all. I'm placing a post on here from a friend of mine, who is searching to see if anybody caught this gig over in Europe a few years back and if by chance taped or recorded this. Here's his post:

I read the 'official' biography/timeline yesterday on www.black-sabbath.com and read a few things that I never knew about. What was the biggest suprise was to find out that Rob Halford played a few gigs with Sabbath on November 14th & 15th of 1992.

"These two dates were at the end of the Dehumanizer tour. Ozzy was saying that his 1992 tour was to be his last, and he wanted to play with Black Sabbath to "end his career". Ronnie James Dio stated that he didn't think Black Sabbath should have to open for anyone, not the least of which was their own former lead singer, Ozzy. Dio refuses to do these shows, so Rob Halford (Judas Priest, Fight), a friend of the band steps in for these two dates. Tony Martin was to perform at these two shows, but he was in Europe at the time, and could not get a work visa to come to the states and sing for Sabbath. The band (with Halford) does a Rockline interview on November 16, 1992, so Halford hung around for a bit more than just the two dates, but it was never intended to continue on with Halford as lead vocalist beyond these dates."

My question is: did any of you know that, and do any of you have video or sound for either of these dates?????

I'm going to keep looking in other places, but this has me floored...especially in the wake of Ozzfest with Sabbath and Preist...not that I think its going to happen again, but just in the spirit of the event. I can't fucking wait for July 27th!!!

That's interesting news.

On a related note, I'm probably one of the very few folks out there who prefers Tony Martin-era Sabbath versus any other era (but not by much). I just love the melody and feel of Tony's voice. It's pretty hard to compare their latter stuff (Martin) with the very early stuff (Ozzy) - two very different animals. It's unfortunate Martin doesn't get more recoginition for his contributions whenever these retrspective CDs are released.

Songs like, "Cross of Thorns", "Dying For Love", "Immaculate Deception", "Anno Mundi", "Valhalla", "Feels Good to Me", "Headless Cross", "Devil & Daughter", "Call of the Wild", "The Shining", and "Lost Forever" have a character to them that I find unique. Definitely some of the most underated melodic metal out there.
