does anyone like this band? I think they are (were) great!!! The albums Opposites Of Ceremony and above all Passage are very good! I don't like the new direction of them though, too electronical for me. in any case they're great musicians and it's one of the few bands from my country I can be proud of

I wasnt to into the earlier stuff .... but I think they got better with each album. I also liked the Electronics and they messed up my liner notes on the cd flipping two song tittles around hehehehe so all I can say is track 8 on Eternal rocks.

SAMAEL have become a very huge band since they started developing their orchestral (passage) and later electronical (eternal) style. With Passage they simply created one of the most important Death/Dark Metal albums. And with Eternal they then proved that they have found a radical own style, although some songs sounded a bit "kitschy" (eg Forever)

Unfortunately they are having big trouble with their label at the moment that's why a new album seems out of sight. Nonetheless one of the most anticipated albums for me!!!

yeah you are right! Passage is simply awesome in my opinion. I think Vorph's voice is great and Xytras is a genius... I'm not a fan of much keyboards, but in Samael's case it works fantastic.

I bought Blood Ritual a long time ago and thought it was ok...but that was about it. Then I heard the Rebellion EP and thought it was awesome. I love Ceremony of Opposites and Passage as well. Unfortuantly, I haven't heard Eternal yet....maybe I will buy that soon...yea i think so.

Samael is my favorite band, the first album I heard from them was " Ceremony of Opposites" and it was an amasing experience!
So, I bought every album of them, all excellent albums!
oow yeah, soon they will visit Belgium for a gig!
