It seems to be mostly black metal lately, so i'll throw this out. This band from the midwest plays a kind of doom/sludge, with small hints of stoner/psychedelic throughout. Slow and plodding guitars crawl out to melodic leads, and the occasional solo. While oppressive most of the time, there is an underling beauty that the aforementioned clean breaks provide. A strong sense of dynamics are also on display. See the third track; a swampy dirge giving way to an great faster paced section. The ebb and flow of the last track is just epic. Give em a try :loco:
 
Isis and Cult of Luna have made this style grow old by releasing bullshit albums, so it is very refreshing to see things like this album emerge, but maybe not as exciting as it would have been a couple years ago. Nah, whatever, what spikes said. Huge structures, rough temper and a sense of vastness/epicness seldom paralleled.
