Sample - Koch Powertone + SM57

was just thinking more volume might bring out the tone a bit more, but then again if it sounds good in the room, it must be your mic'ing, how are you mic'ing it?
 
I'm just a beginner with mic'ing an amp... the sm57 is 7" from the cone, centered.
the presence setting is a 0 'cause there's too much grain if I put more presence.
 
That mic movement really helped the fullness of the tone, but it needs some work. Sounds a bit to 'tinish' and needs some more oomph in the low end..

- Kinda sounds like Lamb of God's tone on thier latest release.....
 
maybe try moving it a little more off axis, to lose some more highs and gain some more lows, better to get the tone right with mic placement before you resort to post recording eq.
