UFO rules, in case you don't know.
Michael is an essential presence, but it's a diservice to Phil Mog to say they suck now...he's the real heart of UFO. I love the Michael era stuff, but it's not like they died after he left. They are still a good band.
I didn't say they sucked? I saw them live with Vinnie a couple of years back and I was impressed with their performance I was even more impressed with how well Phil has held up. Are UFO better off without Schenker? The current Schenker yes, because unfortunately he's on the verge of killing his career.
It's sad. You can't beat the classic stuff, that's what they will always be known for.
No, you were very complementary. I was just answering the general non-Schenker UFO bashing out there today. I agree with you that they are still good, and got your point.

The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent
Phil Mogg is a very underrated singer. The guy must be 60 and he still sounds excellent.
Obviously the Schenker era stuff is my fave as it's what I grew up on. But UFO always had remarkable guitar players. They might not have been Schenker (even Schenker hasn't been Schenker for awhile now), but Chapman did a great job and I think Vinnie Moore is a great fit for UFO.
One of the most consistent rock bands in history IMO.
I remember hearing an old UFO record once when i was drunk all i remember was the guitars were awesome.
Tommy wasn't that bad! He just played on their softer commercial albums and never had a chance to shine much on guitar. Also, Misdemeanor holds a special place in my heart...I got laid alot to that album from this one really cute chick who loved UFO.I wasn't too fond of the era with the Japanese guitarist...
As you can tell I never bought any of that stuff. I bought a DVD years ago that featured him and I think I gave it away. Not too impressed with that era. Vinnie Moore is a huge upgrade compared to that era.
