It ruled as always and some more! It's my 10 somethingTH show and
it was one of the most memorables. The setlist was full of surprises
and so much different than the may set. I couldn't believe that
I got to hear Still Life live! Also it was Wasting Love's debut for me
to. Aja was so unbelievable on these. Both songs are very hard vocally
and I was amazed how well she sung them. I was right in front of her,
going crazy. Phantom was awesome as always. It might be THE best
live song ever. It's been tested with Maiden and Maidens many time. Dropping
out from the set really wouldn't be wise at all. I hope Maiden keeps it too.
There's nothing like the instrumental magic of it. Also it was great to see
Hallowed back into the setlist. And having wickerman is so good.
It's such a good live song.

After the show I got to talk with all the girls first time ever at the same
day, after that many shows. I had little chats with each of them in the
past years at different concerts but tonight was even better. As we
all know; they showed their class and were so nice. I was lucky to
get my Maidens picture autographed. I was very happy
when I was leaving Canes as I were for the last 4 years. It's cool that
we'll meet again at Irvine Maiden show and on November 4th! :)

Children of the Grave guys were very nice and they did a good show too
BTW. There's something very funny about the guitar player Jack.
In Turkey there's very famous and hilarious comedian. He looks exactly
like him. Only the comedian is a little bit younger. I took picture
of him. I'll find a picture of the comedian and post here to make you guys
compare.

Is this cord long enough..

Now I used to take a lot of SLR 35mm shots and I am still not adapted to the slight delay of a digital so I get odd stuff.

The gold medal for syncronized setlist reading goes to Wanda and Aja.

Of all the ladies I almost always catch Liz with funny looks more than anyone else. Never fails.

Love this expression, Oh that chord.

Last night was my FIRST time seeing The Iron Maidens...and wow was it a great show! It was good seeing my buddy Asterothe there...hey old pal!

My friend has seen them maybe 6 times now, and he made a statement that I scoffed at before the show. I'm the most diehard Maiden fan I've ever met, and my friend says to me about their musicianship "If you put Bruce on stage with them, and close your eyes, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference". You know what? He was really close to being correct. My jaw dropped so many times, I thought about just leaving it there!

When the show started, I was impressed and thought to myself..."ok...they're good, I'll enjoy this". However, the more the night went on, the more I got sucked in to it...and the better it got. I cannot tell you how amazed I was.

Part of what made it so amazing, was that the setlist was loaded with songs you know Maiden won't play. Oh man...Wasted Years finishes, and all of a sudden I hear this backwards voice that is so failiar to me.....

"Hassana noof, nobees neebeelem....nooooof. Snobeef nemees minnesooootoff. Nff, nff."

I was so unbelievably in lust/love with the girls at that point (ok...maybe before that, too...especially Wanda...holy freaking God she's beautiful). I had long since given up EVER hearing that song again! It's one of my all-time favorite Maiden songs. Hearing BQOBD, TPOTO, and Wasting Love also...amazing!!!!

Not much else I can say, I suppose....except to thank the lovely ladies! Oh yeah...managed to come away with a guitar pick from each of the ladies on guitar :)

Some specific observations about each lady...

1) Aja - Amazing pipes, and great stage presence!
2) Wanda - seems almost relaxed up there, but plays very VERY well...not to mention, I would like for her to be my future ex-wife. ;)
3) Sarah - Holy freaking moly! Both guitar players blew me away...but Mini...wow...she gives 320% up there. You can tell that this is part of who she is...and it immediately earned my highest respect for her part in the band.
4) Elizabeth - Adrian plays some of the most amazing and precise solos...and Elizabeth just nailed them time after time. I kept paying VERY close attention, and she impressed the hell out of me, every time!
5) Linda - Besides playing an incredible show on the drums, I kept hearing a backing vocal from time to time, when no one was on the mic up front. It didn't take long to see Linda pounding onthe drums, and singing into her mic. To play the drums like that, and sing backing vocals....wow...just...wow.

Oh...and...well...Hi everyone...nice to be here. If anyone here is also on the official Iron Maiden BB....I'm "Khan" from over there.

great show . . . first time i was ever in the front row . . . some crappy cameraphone pics below . . . .

only downside was no Revelations . . .next time . . . .and of course it was too short a set list, lol . . . loved hearing Murders, Wickerman, Hallowed

This is why I fucking hate moshers!!!!!!

I just don't get it at fuggin all. WTF you gonna pay money to "see" a band and then slam around like a fucking pinball disrupting everybody.

You can't tell me you are there to see the act on stage fer cris sakes.

Here pal take this Ipod and go bounce off cars in the fucking street.

Now I'm not talking the crowd surge, I'm talking the 1 to 4 jackoffs that need a 10 square yard area to slam into each other. WTF stay home!
po.gif

Yea, I hate moshers as well. The thing that kills me is Canes has a sign "NO MOSHING!" So does that mean 5 minutes of moshing before security stops it WTF! One douchebag landed at my feet 3 fucking times!

I'm there to see the act not watch out for idiots.

I agree wholeheartedly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At European shows, the security don't stop the pits. It's all just part of the "fun". It can work to your advantage tho. At Maiden in 2003 during FFAF a pit started up in front of us. It became pretty big so I just strolled across it to be 20 ft closer to the front than I was before. Fuck 'em! Any mosher lands into me, they're getting an elbow in the ribs. If people want to mosh, there should be a seperate area for them.

Or how about a room with spiked walls, then I'm sure they'd soon stop.

LOL...what I do, is....if there's one right next to me...I just hold out my arm, with my hand made into a fist. A few moshers, over the years, have gone home with the imprint of my fist on them.

That's very similiar to what I do. I have my fingers just in my pockets so my elbows are sticking out and just stand there, if any of them pile into me then they get my elbow in their ribs.

Yeah...the parking lot.

It would be nice if venues made a special place for moshers. It's cool for peeple who want to be a part of it, but for me, personally, it's a drag because it tends to clear the floor and I like looking at all the faces in the audience not a big empty space!

Thanks for sharing your tips on mosh prevention, Jenna! Elbows are very effective, even for smaller people. Maybe I'll make that suggestion at the next show. :heh:

Hehe, you're welcome - I find it tends to work and stops you getting into a fight about it too cos you could just say to them that they ran into your elbow rather than actually pushing or elbowing them away. Luckily at nearly 6ft, I don't have that much of a problem in the pit.

I'll bet you don't, girl! :headbang:
