Disagree. The songwriting took a much different direction for sure, its debatable to call that an improvement though. Into the Mirror Black does indeed kick ass, but Refuge Denied is a killer of an album, it takes the cake for me. Warrel's vocals on that album, holy shit, he sounds like a falsetto banshee. Im not going to complain about his vocals now (because I still like them) but imagine if he could still hit those notes in Battle Angels on todays CD's.
