I don't think you missed anything. OH, except the fact that Sanctuary didn't care for the Official Anthrax Street Team's free help.dailyvault said:Sanctuary used to be known in the States as CMC International - the joke was that was the label where '80s bands went to die, but the fact is they put out some great shit. Judas Priest was on there, as were Iron Maiden, Slaughter and Motorhead. (Even some of the non-metal stuff was surprisingly good - CMC got a raw deal from consumers, IMHO.)
Then Sanctuary got involved, broke CMC up into these little specialty labels, only to apparently thin out the herd under their own banner. I dealt with a great publicity person when they were CMC, named Brian O'Neill, but when he left the label, that's when I saw a decline from where I was.
Damn shame, too - I don't have the recent knowledge of the problems like those Thraxx and others saw, but we've traded war stories in PMs, and it makes me sad that the label went bad so quickly. But, that's what happens when corporate bullshit occurs. (Thraxx, did I miss anything?)
They did pay me back for doing their job (mailing promo stuff to the street team) thanks toprime666 said:Santuary doesnt pay shit for Street teams. They wouldnt even pick up the tab for shipping stickers to street team members Thraxdude payed for all of that out of his pocket....
Megadeth dont have release the re-issues and the new "Greatest Hits" with Sucktuary. If i'm not wrong they were release by Capitol!LuvataciousSkull said:WOW! I honestly had no idea that it was THAT bad! I knew there was little press, but wow! I remember last year when the Music of Mass Destruction DVD came out that I told Charlie (I think it actually was you, Thraxude) that the FYE where I worked at wasn't doing anything to promote it, and I did try. Charlie sent me an e-mail thanking me for the help and he said he was going to try and send me something. I never did, and I think I understand why now.
But with that said, I do know there was a ton of publicity for the last Megadeth CD, the re-issues, and the new "Greatest Hits". But then again, that's just one band out of god knows how many that got hosed. And even then, that was mainly thanks to Megadeth's management.

Gregg!! Help me on this one![]()
And then they realized that Sanctuary Records is the worst thing to ever happen to the music business, and left the shitass label.LuvataciousSkull said:"The System has Failed" was released by Sanctuary, and there was a lot of press for it, but I'm sure that was mainly due to Dave's management.
