suprisingly i did see wcfya halfpage ads in a few major metal mags,thats about it lol,it is a known fact that they are a fucked label but they did pull anthrax outta the shit after beyond went all fucked,they served there purpose but what the hell happens next is anyones guess.

Sanctuary in general doesn't do enough promotion of the bands they have signed to get them airplay & sales. How can you expect to profit with the bands you have signed if you don't plug the shit out of them? You need to spend some money to make some money!

Sanctuary used to be known in the States as CMC International - the joke was that was the label where '80s bands went to die, but the fact is they put out some great shit. Judas Priest was on there, as were Iron Maiden, Slaughter and Motorhead. (Even some of the non-metal stuff was surprisingly good - CMC got a raw deal from consumers, IMHO.)
Then Sanctuary got involved, broke CMC up into these little specialty labels, only to apparently thin out the herd under their own banner. I dealt with a great publicity person when they were CMC, named Brian O'Neill, but when he left the label, that's when I saw a decline from where I was.
Damn shame, too - I don't have the recent knowledge of the problems like those Thraxx and others saw, but we've traded war stories in PMs, and it makes me sad that the label went bad so quickly. But, that's what happens when corporate bullshit occurs. (Thraxx, did I miss anything?)

Back in the day, CMC also had OverKill, who put out some fucking AWESOME albums with them... Check out "The Killing Kind," great disc.

For starters I wouldnt know Motorhead had a knew album out last year if I didnt check there site, same with Anthrax.

One positive thing I did see when WCFYA was released there was an add on MTV2 head bangers ball I recall it ran several times for several weeks.
Santuary doesnt pay shit for Street teams. They wouldnt even pick up the tab for shipping stickers to street team members Thraxdude payed for all of that out of his pocket....

But with that said, I do know there was a ton of publicity for the last Megadeth CD, the re-issues, and the new "Greatest Hits". But then again, that's just one band out of god knows how many that got hosed. And even then, that was mainly thanks to Megadeth's management.

Sorry, your right! The re-issues and new Greatest Hits WERE with Capitol Records! My mistake!
But at ay rate, "The System has Failed" was released by Sanctuary, and there was a lot of press for it, but I'm sure that was mainly due to Dave's management.
