Satan's Host - By the Hands of the Devil

we practiced right next to these guys in the late 80's/early 90's. Patrick Evil is a trip...good guy. Harry rules.

I am listening to it now, and it kicks the ass of the new Jag Panzer(*) for me. Apparently, Harry Conklin was in Satan's Host back in the day and released Metal from Hell with them in 1986. (Yes, I am checking that one out next.) Harry then left for Titan Force, and Satan's Host became a black/death metal band.

Fast forward to 2011, and Harry is back singing with Satan's Host. The vocals are Harry at his best - clean, melodic, and soaring. The music has some black and death metal elements, but it has just as many traditional/power metal moments. The disc at times reminds me of the awesome Mike Wead offering, Bibleblack - The Black Swan Epilogue (2009).

Highly recommended.

* = Note that though I love Casting the Stones, I have not been able to get into any other Jag Panzer album, so I am hardly a Panzer fanboy. I like Titan Force though. ;-)
