My god, just listened to Saxon's tune 'Live to Rock',shades of Bon Scott chills came over me,almost thought Bon fought his way back out of Hell and possessed Saxon's lead singer. Man I still miss Bon ever since he died,he was a big part of my life in the 70's.

I'm a big Saxon fan, they are like AC/DC in that their stuff is consistently solid, I really like "Come Rock Of Ages" off the new one...

Huge Saxon fan. Saw them the first time on Denim & Leather tour and then 6 times more. Always an awesome show.
A lot of their "later" albums are sadly underrated and often forgotten. They have probably only made 2 "somewhat bad" albums throughout the years.

Class Act...:rock::rock::rock:

Amen, my Metal brother! I've always LOVED The Mighty Saxon since the very first time I heard "Princess Of The Night" in 82 on the radio on 96 ROCK!!!! Classic Metal Band! Also one of my old skool Metal favorites too!! All time Classic Metal Sound!!!! :kickass:

Man I wish SAXON would do a USA tour and not just hit those fests and BB Kings..bummer!!! I made it a point to see them in 07 at Wacken Open Air in Germany....I live in Vegas! I saw the warm up show with about 200 and then two days later at WOA in front of 50k+ fans!!! Both shows ruled!!!! :kickass::kickass::kickass:
They are one of my top 5 faves and love all their cds expept one...Destiny....the rest are amazing!!! They def keep it solid and they are just sick live!!!! You guys are lucky to see them in NY!! Enjoy and tell BIff I said hi!! Lol!
If you would like to see the review I did of the new cd and WOA with Saxon...go to www.leahsrockreport.com

Love Saxon, man Wheels of Steel and Denim & Leather still find regular rotation in my player after 25+ years, as well as Strong Arm and Power & The Glory. Unfortunately, I've never had the privilage of seeing them live, and by the looks of the US dates listed so far, its still not happening:(

Whenever anyone gives me that question that every metal fan has heard, "Priest or Maiden?", I always answer, "Saxon!" They are sadly overlooked among the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Bands, and unlike Priest or Maiden, their material seems to get better with each release. I've been wanting to see these guys live for years now, but the only time they came to Chicago in the past ten years was before I was old enough to get into the venue. It's a shame that touring here kills their funds, as they deserve much more respect in these parts.

Stay metal. Never rust.
Albert

I totally agree with you!!! After hearing Metal Head for the first time when it came out I quickly became a SAXON fan again and started to collect all their back catalogue!! I love everything since and they seem to be getting better and better with age!!! I say go on with yer bad self Biff!!! He is still a presence to be reckoned with onstage!!!!

Fucking love SAXON since I bought "Power and the Glory" on cassette in 1982! Actually, PatG and "Crusader" are my two favorite SAXON albums.

Hell Fuckin' Yeah!!! The Power And The Glory is also one of my faves!!! I bought that for the first time back in 1984 on vinyl, back in the day!!! Now I've got the new re-mastered, re-relased edition!!! SAXON FUCKIN" RULE!!!!!!!!!! :worship:
 :kickass:

Count me in as a Saxon fan ever since I heard Wheels Of Steel back in 1980-81? Saw them twice, once opening for UFO on the Mechanix tour (1982), and got in when they played the Brat Stop in 83-84. GREAT live bad too!

I'll be seeing them tomorrow night in NYC and I'm pretty excited. Oddly enough, I met Biff at a Kamelot show in London. He strolled by and my friend Lars and I were like, "Is that... BIFF?!?!" LOL. He was very cool and posed for pics with us and the few people who recognized him. There were a lot of kids there who had no idea who he was, so we gave them a homework assignment - go home and learn about SAXON. Haha.

I'll be seeing Saxon in New York City in just two days. I am extremely excited. I'm young yet but have been anxiously awaiting a Saxon gig for a good five years.

Lucky you!!

I've never seen them live so far. And it won't happen as it seems. I asked local promoters here why they never try to book them. Always tell me that Saxon costs too much for the audience they'd draw. That's sad but as they're pretty popular in Europe and sadly quite underground in North America, they probably ask for too much $$ around here.

In any ways, Saxon rules. The only weak stuff they released was from 1985 to 1989 IMO. Since 1990, all is at least good, and since 1997, all albums are very good to excellent. I think their best albums are from the last 12 years, not the classic early stuff.
