SCAAR - Scarred For Life
Self-released - 2002

Offering up razor-sharp riffery from Sweden, SCAAR have produced a 6-track disc of pure heavy mindfuck. The music is relentless, the vocals tear at your ears, and by the end of the album you're left releaved by wanting more.
It's good to see a brutal band from Sweden not trying to chase either Entombed's OR In Flames' coat tails, but rather get down to the business of rocking out on all cylinders, and pounding out vicious heavy rock of the likes of 'Shut Up Or I'll Kill Ya' (nice!) or the utter aural assault of 'Woodpecker Mosh' - fuck, if that isn't one to get a mosh going, fucks knows what is.
The production is clear and thick, although more layers of sound (ala The Black League) would have made this great album even better. The guys have talent, and the more chances they're given to prove it will only yield greater results.
It's heavy, it's core, it's metal - it's SCAAR!
