I'm a huge fan of pretty much everything that Kjellgren's produced. You guys should check out In Mourning, they're fucking fantastic and underrated.

I recently got into the first three SS albums, can't wait to hear the rest of this one!

Didn't like Dark Matter too much, even if the 2 singers do their jobs really well after Christian parted ways with the band
not really digging this song too unfo...somewhat a bit djenty with the strange synth...not much love from me

A pitty, I really love the first 3 albums, but the newer direction doesnt fit my liking it seems

Agreed with you Mago, I lost interest after Christian left. He's got a million other projects though, check out Miseration for exclusively growly Avelstram goodness, and Solution .45 for what Scar Symmetry "should have been".

Guitar tone is delicious, snare is massive, and the growls are seriously impressive. This stuff isn't bad by any means, it's just not really doing anything for me.

Ha wow this is interesting! Definitely a completely different direction for em.. but yeah vocally they haven't stroked me since Chris left.. that guy was such a huge art of the Scar Symmetry sound but yeah.. other than vocally this rules. The vocals aren't bad.. I just miss Christians voice

dammit, I feel the same about this track as I do with Dark Matters Dimensions... the growly shit works, even better this time around, but ugh,, I can't gel with the guy that does the clean vocals. btw, that crazy synth stuff, is that those starrlabs guitars they picked a while ago.

The mix sounds great, but I'm not too sure if I like the "djent" direction they are going. I feel they had something really original going for them, and now they are just going to follow-suite with all the other bands out there wanting to be the next Periphery/Bulb, Meshuggah, TesseracT, etc. The last half of the song is great, but definitely not the Scar Symmetry I've always liked. Oh well, I kinda figured they might move in a different musical direction sometime after Christian left, and I guess this is the album they'll do it with.

The drums are stellar as usual. The guitars seem much improved to Dark Matter Dimensions, which I thought were almost overbearing on that album.

Really digging the new direction they've got going on here. Not sure I agree with the comments about them sounding "djenty" in the style of Meshuggah/Periphery/etc. To me, this music is more driving and less monotonous than a lot of the music I hear that's classified as "djent". Anyways, the band definitely needed to evolve to a new sound after Alvestam left, and I think it works in this song. Hopefully the rest of the album delivers. Day one purchase for me.

Picked this up yesterday, those fucking drums. Whole album overall is better than DMD imo, especially the vocals have improved a lot.

this album sucks in comparison to DMD in my ridiculously valid opinion. sounds quality is supreme, but the songwriting has taken a turn for the worst, sounds too much like soilwork for my taste. they used to have epic proggy moments.....
