Now I can't quite afford to get a schecter custom with a thru neck - but their set neck (i assume glued to the body) range (hellraiser) feel wicked. What are the advantage over a bolt on?
Do you get similar amount of sustain and body from a set neck as you would with a thru.

Set neck guitars are commonly considered to have a greater sustain. I don't know if it's the absolute truth but my own experience tend to confirm this.

I have a Schecter C1 Stealth. It's all mahoghany, is that spelled right?, set neck, and came stock with an SH-6 distortion pickup, just what I use in all my guitars! I'm left-handed, so this guitar was my best option from Schecter! I just can't stand no dots on the fretboard. It makes me have to think more! This guitar feels like a Gibson strat to me. I mostly play Ibanez, but this Schecter is very nice! I would recommend the set neck schecks, definately!
