Scorpions/Ratt in Nashville

The Scorpions tour with Iron Maiden opening way back when (Blackout or ...Sting tour, don't remember) still ranks as my all time number one live show. The energy from both bands was off the hook. That said, Scorps are much more "mature" now and play way too many ballads and solos for my taste. But I still consider them to be one of the premier live bands of my time and for that I will forever be grateful and continue to support them. Since my recent move to KC, I am limited in my options to see them this tour but would love to do it somehow.

I've never seen the appeal of the Scorps as a live band. I saw them back in the 80s and thought they were as dull as could be. I also recall them opening for Motley Crue about ten years ago. It had been a while since I had gone to see an 80s band perform live, so I had no clue what to expect. The crowd remained calmly seated throughout the entire Scorpions performance, and applauded politely after each song. I kept thinking to myself, this can't be how it's going to be for Motley Crue? When Crue took the stage, people we're not just standing on their chairs, but on the arms of their chairs... for the entire show. That experience kind of sealed the Scorps standing as a live band in my mind.

Really? I've never seen a bad Scorpions show. I've only seen Motley Crue once and they were good but didn't blow me away. Different strokes...

Definitely, that show with Iron Maiden and Girlschool was one of my all-time favorites as well (BLACKOUT tour), incredible. They have mellowed from what they were back in the day but I've always thought their live shows were top shelf...

I don't know if the following site is accurate or not.But according to setlist.fm the Scorpions have played the same set list at every show on the tour so far.Again,don't know if it's accurate or not but if you want to see what you may get in Atlanta,check it out.

I was going to post this thread, but ICEDEARTHFAN beat me to it. Take his advice and go to this tour if you get a chance. My wife and I were at the Nashville show and it made the 7 hour drive up there worth it. I'm more a fan of their 70's material, but they played a killer set of songs consisting of mostly their 80's stuff, with a few cuts from the new album. They did play 3 songs off Lovedrive. I won't be forgetting this show for a long time. The crowd was great and singing along with every song, even the new stuff. We had floor seats and could see fine. They dedicated "Send Me an Angel" to Dio and I got a tear in my eye. Everyone in the band was firing on all cylinders and Klaus' voice still sounds great. Don't hesitate to go to this, especially since this is their last tour.

Seriously, Scorpions is one of the most energetic, fun-to-watch live bands on the planet. It was true when I saw them on the Love At First Sting tour, and it was true when I saw them two or three years ago. You, sir, have no soul.

I think the one think we're all guilty of, when judging how good a band is live, is failing to properly account for how much of a fan we are to begin with. For instance, if you go see your favorite band, and all 15 songs they play are songs you love, it will be pretty hard for them to suck.

Seriously, Scorpions is one of the most energetic, fun-to-watch live bands on the planet. It was true when I saw them on the Love At First Sting tour, and it was true when I saw them two or three years ago. You, sir, have no soul.

LOL. All I can say is, at both Scorps performances I saw, everyone in both of my groups, walked away with the same impression of the Scorps.
