In a new interview with Guitarist, Thin Lizzy’s Scott Gorham hints at a potential return of the iconic band – but only under the right circumstances. An excerpt from the feature follows…

It’s been four decades since their last studio material, and, with no live dates in sight, one might safely assume that Thin Lizzy’s days are over… but not just yet. In a recent interview with Guitarist, Gorham foreshadows a potential resurrection of Lizzy, claiming he’s waiting for the right calibre of player.

Says Gorham, “I can’t just pick somebody off the line. For me, there’s gotta be something special about them. I don’t want to break the chain of great guitar players coming through Thin Lizzy. I know they’re out there. So hopefully, it’s not gonna take too long for something to happen.”

April 2024 saw Scott Gorham launch a collection his own historic artwork at a London event hosted by actor Philip Glenister. Six stunning prints became available via scottgorhamworld.com and later in 2024, after demand from fans, becoming available on t-shirts and long sleeved shirts also.

A year later, Scott releases six new artworks. This new release also features a mix of older and contemporary artwork.

Scott says, “I have been so touched by the support I’ve received since I released my first art that it has inspired me to start drawing again. It made sense that when we came to release the next batch of artwork we release a mix of this new artwork with older unreleased pieces. So, we’ve mixed some pictures from the 80s and 90s with some from the last three years. I hope you enjoy the new artwork as much as I enjoyed creating it.”

The new original prints released are Einstein’s Regret (2024), Seed Of Life (1992), Sweet Surrender (2022), The Cage (2025), Unchartered Universe (2025) And Virus (1984). Three of the new pictures are below.

Scott Gorham’s Artwork:

In 1974 American Scott Gorham moved to the UK and joined Irish rockers Thin Lizzy. Scott would perform on ten best-selling albums, including Jailbreak, Johnny The Fox, Bad Reputation and Live And Dangerous, and on the hit singles, “The Boys Are Back In Town”, “Rosalie”, “Dancing In The Moonlight (It’s Caught Me In Its Spotlight)” and “Waiting On An Alibi”.

Scott used to also secretly work on his own art (something he discovered as a child). He carried on drawing, with Thin Lizzy and, in more recent times, with the group Black Star Riders, and at home during downtime after a tour. He just didn’t tell his fellow musicians or even his wife, Christine. Then Christine discovered a folder containing numerous drawings, some of which dated back to the early 1980s. These images were inspired by Scott’s life on the road, getting sober, the state of the planet and even the time Phil Lynott took him to his first football match.

Now these artwork are available as limited edition prints, posters, long and short sleeved t-shirts on scottgorhamworld.com.
