Quote : “It was never an idea of wanting to be different, it was just what we looked like,” says Ian of the band’s onstage fashion. “We’re the same as our audience, regular guys. It wasn’t about leather, bullet belts and spikes, it was about shorts, sneakers and t-shirts. That’s who we were, and that’s what we wore—Why should we look any different onstage? It was never about putting on a band face, ( LOL) (NOW THATS FUNNY), it was just about being ourselves.”

Yet: They whent from being Cool onstage to PENTAGRAMS (Didn't realize they change to Witchcraft mentality) on Everything AND TATTOO's Seems they Joined the I want to be the same as everyone else club.

On A possitive note: Im glad the Clockmaker and The Indian are back, Anthrax died when Spitz and Belladonna left, Now They have risen! (Must be the Pentacles) Maybe There is Hope for Anthrax yet. LETS PUT THE ANTHRAX BACK IN ANTRAX AT SLAYERVILLE JUNE 3rd.

Cya there

I thought Spitz and Bellardini were both fired?

Not according to their website go to Bio, Spitz just dropped off the face of the earth to make watches. And Scott decided to be a follower and tatoo himself up like every other metal band. Stupid what ever happened to Originality?

Scott likes to play the poser rockstar these days.

pretty sure Dan and Joey were both fired.

Joe was fired and Danny left after Sound of White Noise on his own. Hence not permanent guitarist until Rob. (Paul Crook toured but others always played on the albums) And about image their still wearing t-shirts and jeans the shirts numbers represent the years they have been in the band. It's a cool idea that started around the 20th anniversary at the end of 03.

Charlie fired Dan, just as he fired Frank
Dan was quoted back in 93 I think as saying he wanted to spend time with his then young children and his wife he just was not into it anymore. Joe was having a drinking problem causing issues on stage and Frank is still up in the air no one has ever stated what happened so again where do you get your info?

Funny, I see tattoos as artistic expression not as a metal fad. You feel that Scott getting tattoos makes Anthrax like everyone else? That's a rediculous statement!

:headbang: Couldn't have said it better myself!

Dont some of you guys get bored with being rude and deliberately provocative about whats happening - and Max I am REALLY suprised at you - I know you have met the band and they treated you well so to say what you did is quite appaliing!!!

Lighten up everyone - this tour is happening - what does it matter about who said what about whom - either you are going to see the current band tour or you are not - thats it, bottom line!! It s a free world and no-one can force you to do anything you dont want to!!!

Chill pills all round please Brent!!

Yea! Thats why I stopped listening in 92, Now there back so I'm back, Then I'll go away again, But C'mon man you have to admit they had such a cool political and funny and new aspect about them over 20 years ago, they brought (c)rap and metal together, they had such a diverse and original way about them, How many more Bands are going to use Pentagrams, and what the F**K Does a pentagram have to do with a disease anyway. C'mon Old school Anthrax was 100% better than the Crap they are today. I don't care about the look, If its original Awesome, but They lost there Originality when they changed there look.

I personally think that Anthrax has evolved over a period of time - dont forget that in the earl ydays they had the stereotype Heavy Metal image with leather and studs and bullet belts - through the ATL and SOE time it was shorts and skateboards because thats what they wore, then dont forget the POT tour and the Bring the Noize tour where the Anthrax logo changed. Currently they wear what they are comfortable in and the Pentagram shirts evolved out of using the A and the work Charlie did on the WCFYA tour where he wanted to get the A inside the Lord of the Rings ring - anyone who has seen the "Lords of the Riff" logo wil know what this is about.

Also - the band have always had tatoos - Charlie had the SOE and NOTman during the SOE tour and I know Scott has always been into them.

Its a shame your post starts with Scott the Hypocrite ( and yes there's an e on the end) as I think thats its an unfair comment - even if thats what he said then it was 15 years ago - stuff changes and things said in interviews can be taken out of context!!

Who cares if there is an "e" in the word, And It's ok to Have tats, But Anthrax was About keeping it new, Clean, Original. Bodysleeve Tats, Pentagrams, Mohawks, and everything else is IMAGE And it threw me for a loop when I read there Bio (Check there WEBSITE) and He made some statements about Image and keeping it real. Hence He is a Hypocrit (with or without the "e") And like I said, If you notice, There Image changed and so did there music, that's why after 13 years i'm going to the show, So I can hear Old School Thrax not The Sell out, I have to be like everyone else Gaythrax that they became. And If this is a One time thing, Oh well, At least I got to see the Real Thrax one last time.

WHO CARES ABOUT THE IMAGE?!?! I'm sorry, but I'm sick and tired of hearing how important the way they look is or isn't. Looks mean nothing, music means everything! And as far as the reunion goes, just give it a chance, they sounded great together when I saw them in Chicago, in fact, they sounded great when I saw them with John Bush last year too! I'll support this band no matter who's in or who's out and no matter what they look like, as long as they still sound great!

SERIOUSLY!!!! THEY'RE ARTISTS!!!!! They are expressing themselves. It's too bad for you that it's not in a way that you concider real, but I'm sure that it's very real to them. That's the cool thing about being rock stars. They don't have to check the corporate dress code regulations before going on stage. I respect their individuality and find nothing regular about the band. The even changed the pentagram to make it their own (although it is still facing down, a negative aspect).

On the subject of the tats didn’t Scott have them before they were the cool things to have? Like most tattooed ppl he’s continually having work done, thus you end up with full sleeves, back pieces and all the rest. Just cause its cool, don’t mean that’s why some ppl have them, its maybe cause they like being tattooed. Personally I’m tattooed, got my first in the late '80's, and I’m still adding to my collection. So does that make me want to be like everyone else, or everyone want to be like me?
On the subject of music/look, wasn’t Scott one of the first guys in a metal band to sport the strange beard and baldhead when everyone else had hair they could keep their ass warm with? What does the look of someone have to do with how good a musician they are anyway back when you couldnt get into a band unles your hair was 3 foot long at least? Look at Rob from the mighty Priest. Did his ‘gay biker look’ (his words not mine) stop him from being a great singer, or them making great music? True metal is about the music, not the look. If the looks important to you, go listen to Marilyn Manson, Bon Jovi or NSYNC
