Heya dudes (and or dudettes)
I would like to give my 2 cents here for anyone interested in this particular microphone and/or the difference between three common polar patterns, Cardioid, Figure 8 and Omni to be precise.
I did a small test with my cheapo steelstring acoustic Ibanez playing a simple E Major chord for comparison sake (well, actually because i'm not an guitar player, but that's another story)
The microphone was pointed +- at the 12th fret with an distance of 30 (ish) centimeters away from the source, going into a Focusrite Saffire Pro40
Cardioid
Figure 8
Omni-directional
It was recorded in my untreated attic-bedroom, and no post-processing is done whatsoever (not even the HP on the mic itself)
