Second halve of 2011 lists (merged)

I just had a rediscovery of Eden's Curse's Trinity. I love(d) the single No Holy Man with James Labrie, but the rest of the album is just as good if not better. The album's got a great production and song-wise it's a mix between Threshold's Dead Reckoning and Pink Cream 69 [engineered and mixed by Dennis Ward. Excellent prog metal mixed with hard rock. One of the gems of the year for sure.

BTW, if you hunt the record down, check out the song Black Widow with Helloween singer Andi Deris on backing vox.

So far Alice Cooper and White Wizzard failed to impress me with their new material, but Evile may get a second chance (I didn't like the last album).

Since I have four 2011 albums in transit, there's no point to upgrade my list yet :p

The new Brainstorm leaked and it's really good, but I suspect some audio tampering as it appears to be a review copy. It's the perfect example of mastering WAY too loud, it's all distorted and sounds like shit, yet the production is solid.

Musically, they're back to where they were in 2007. It's a pretty good record.

Chaos definitely took some time to grow, but it's got some good songs. Plus I listened to it 1000 times so it probably forced me to like it.

Dave Sabo's said in several recent interviews that they have about 10 songs written, and they sound like "Old Skid Row" - thank god.

Supposedly in this spring they're gonna hit the studio. Hopefully with a proper enginner because their last 2 albums sounded like shit. I quite enjoyed Thick Skin musically, but the production was pretty mediocre, and RPM sounded like ass - songs and otherwise.

Final Stage (maybe?)

That will be cool indeed for me. FS is easily one of my favorite newer bands.

Will be nice to toss them along the upcoming[FONT=&quot] Freedom Call, Testament, Crystal Viper, Pharaoh, Savage Messiah, and Primal Fear releases.
