Cascading riffs scourge the listener’s attention out of the gates as an exciting approach is delivered. They have the power to enrapture within their waves of sound. Despite this capability, it is somewhat difficult to classify the band. They can be seen as a melodic type of metal, but there is a certain progressiveness to it as well. This leads one to want to characterize Semnai as uncertain because there is no overriding style to what they perform.

Regardless, the music is entertaining enough in its characteristic slant. The band inject energy galore into their music and it shows strongly. They have the talent to be something special though and if they opened up their musical avenues somewhat we might be able to see something a little more innovative begin to take shape. It would add to their potent approach quite nicely as they would become a more complete band. As it is, Semnai allow the nature of their material to converge into these great waves of expressiveness and their approach is solid enough. They have the ability to undulate into greater pockets of sound that envelop you as you take in their progressively widening sound.

I would have great difficulty comparing Semnai to other bands because they don’t really sound like bands from the styles I’d like to compare them to. Thus this just goes recommended towards metal fans looking for a strong album that brings hooks to the table in a way that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
