Senn e906 settings

Did anyone ever figure out if the 3-position switch on the e906 is meant to allow the user to choose between the all-black 609's frequency response and that of the silver-face 609? I can get a decent price on a 906, but only if I act today.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to be making the 609 black model anymore. Now there's the e906 with the frequency switches? I'm curious is anyone has tried this out....

im curious as well. i will probably pick on up soon to try it out. i pretty much like almost everything ive tried by sennheiser, even the silver 609 is good on some things. i think the 906 will just be another color to add to the choices.
