Sennheiser E606?

Hi Guys,

Someone's suggested that an E606 and an SM57 on a guitar cab will deliver the goods.

Any experiences with this combination or the E606 in particular?

Im curious about this too. I've used the combination E609-SM57 a couple of times and that rips. How about E606-SM57?

I borrowed a 606 to a friend a few months ago(I own a sm57) and found it more precise and detailed than the shure, but does not have that particular punch and color in the mids and it seemed to have a little bump in the high mids too which in the end tends to make it sound a bit "thinner"(if that does make any sense)than a 57.I ended up using only the shure for my recording and discarded the 606 tracks.That does not mean the mic was total crap, it sounded cool, the 57 just suited me much better.I'm quite curious to know how a 609 sounds by the way, compared to the 606.

The 609 is much less "pre-shaped" without the high-mid peak

well I just bought me a "real" 609 (not the silver one) and I'm heading to the studio to try it out now... more to come about this!!!
