Seven Thorns - great Danish power metal

You might have seen me mention these guys in the Now Playing-thread, but I think they deserve their own topic. I suggest you check them out if you're into no frills, melodic European power metal with happy choruses and blistering solos.

They released an album as 7thorns in 2006 called Glow of Dawn, but have since changed most of the members and the name to Seven Thorns. Their latest album is Return To The Past, which was released through Nightmare Record this last November. It features a guest solo by Olaf Lenk from At Vance.

Damn nice guitar work. I think the only thing I might change is the vocals...little too mid-range. But that's really nit-picking.

Interesting side note: The guy "singing" in the video is not the one handling the vocals in real life. That would be Erik Blomkvist, but I guess he could not make it to the shooting.

I'm getting a real Dreamtale vibe from the guy singing in the video. Too bad it's not the real singer... I don't recall ever seeing a video in which the actual singer wasn't present, haha!

The dude in the video is Mik Holm, who doesn't actually play any instrument in the band, but he is among the main composers and does backup vocals.

And we have a winner. I knew someone would bring it up sooner or later. But I agree with you, she's hot. Kind of makes it hard for me to focus, since the songs itself is stellar as it is ... they don't really need her to make it better ....
