Severe Torture

I'm a new fan of this band, real new actually since I just heard of them on their Fall of the Despised album... I just recieved a copy of the new one Sworn Vegenance can't wait to hear that. Opinions on this band? What in the back catalog is worth checking out?

Decent band but not terribly exciting. There's a lot better stuff if you want to go brutal.

I love them personally. Not quite as slammy or chaotic as many comtemporary brutal death bands, but very well-done nonetheless. Misanthropic Carnage is my favorite, but their discography is pretty consistent and you can't really go wrong with any of it.

They are good, but there is definitely better. And Jreg is right, they are super-consistent...nothing I've heard by them is bad, mainly because they have a formula and don't fuck with it.

I think Severe Torture are much better now with the latest two and are better than US(chugga chugga DUN DUN DUN!) death metal bands and are more serious musically and it's cool they are on a bigger label now. I think they are influenced by old school US and euro death metal.
