They've got a couple of songs I like, and I actually like a lot of top 40 rock and metal like Disturbed and Paramore.

Couple new ones in that vein you guys might want to check out: Halestorm and New Soul Cowboys.

I meant to say, I'm w/ glenn on this one 100%, for two reasons, & this is my opinion & I pretty much don't care what anyone else thinks! One, my girlfriend shari really got me into shinedown, btw she loved them way, way before they even got really popular, when "Leave A Whisper" came out!!! Thanks baby!!! ;) Well, her & the WWE when they were using, I think it was "Heroes" for a ppv theme!!!! Second, my gf & I saw them last year @ The Tabernacle, they kicked major ass & took names live!!!! That & I & my gf both love brent smith's vocals!!!!
And I particarly LOVE "The Sound Of Madness" album!!! Great cd & great well written songs imho!!!!

...Oh & my girlfriend shari also won tickets for the Shinedown secret show @ Project 96.1 studios, where they did some amazing acoustic, unplugged versions of "Devour" & "If you only knew" And their now classic, "45"!!!!!!!

I'll agree with those who don't really get what Shinedown's appeal is. I've downloaded the new disc and will give it a spin. Based on their earlier material, which I've heard, they seem exceptionally mediocre.

One of those things that we talk about a bit. I love the singing. If you don't care for the voice, I can understand not caring for the band. I thought that their latest album (released 2008) was their best by far.
