Got my Rectifier 212 cab today so it was the first time I could test my new EVH 5150 III 50 Watt :)

I spent 1 minute on microphone (sm57) position and am tweaking so theres muuuuuch headroom to improve ;)

Just a little test clip:

Did the Mago Reamps, not yet 100% satisfied with the tone but it's quite good imho.

(bass got a bit too clonky but whatever :) )

Ah I forgot to mention:

The volume pot at this recording was about one milimeter above 0. So it was very very quiet. I was impressed how good this thing sounds at so low volumes.

osum, very tasty sounding guitars! :headbang:
Perhaps there's too much bass guitar's mids to feel its meat.
Also you can add little more attack to the kick sound.

So what are the amp settings/channel, pickup, mic placement? You know I have this same setup, I'm also impressed how good it sounds at low levels.

As I said, that was a very very quick test recording, so I didn't fine-tune anything.

Guitar was my Schecter Hellraiser C-7 with EMG707, the mic was placed between cone and cap edge I think if you refer to this picture

Amp Settings were:

Red Channel
Gain: 50%
Bass: 60%
Mid: 40%
High: 55%
Presence: 45%

Sounds great man! Did you put any HP/LP afterwards or is this all raw?

I think the overall tone would improve some if you'd LP somewhere around 7-10khz to rid some fizz
which might come from your brand new cab. I'd also fiddle abit with the basstone for more lowend and abit less mids.

I guess your 57 was on the grill since you recorded with such low volume or?

Anyways, GAS was just created, and the amp seems to sound tight without any boosts too :headbang:

Dude what did you use for bass? I've been trying for that sound for ages, and still can't get it. I'm interested in the type of distortion and bass guitar used. BTW, the amp sounds absolutely awesome.

Bass are the common three tracks:

DI - Distortion - Grit

I used TSE 808 and TSE BOD on the Distortion and NoAmp on the Grit Track. Both heavily high/lowpassed before the distortion plugin and after.

sounds fucking great man, guitars and bass!

hmm...may i use this file for some AXE FX II tiome match experiments!? :D
if so, maybe you could uload short waf files of the guitars and bass!? :)

cheers
