HI! THIS IS MY FIRST POST HERE. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY (I MEAN A.A.) READ THIS, BUT I NEED TO SAY IT LOUD AND CLAER: THE NEXT TIME YOU COME TO SPAIN AND BARNA OFFERS YOU THIS KIND OF MATCHBOX="SALA BIKINI", SAY 'NO'. I DON'T NEED TO WAIT THREE MONTHS TO SEE YOU IN THIS BOX AND REMENBER THIS CONCERT AS THE WORST IN MY LIFE. YOU ARE TOO GREAT X THIS. OR MUCH BETTER: COME TO VALENCIA, WE KNOW HOW TO DO IT.EVEN YOU CAN EAT THE REAL "PAELLA".
THAXS.
P.S.: I CRY THE HOURS BEFORE, AND IT'S NOT A JOKE:cry:

Listen love... first rule of being taken seriously in a forum... Do not use capitals, hurts the eyesight and it is a bit aggressive as well. For the sake of our national reputation, don't make your first post a series of whinges, geddit? Amon Amarth singled out Spain for a mini tour, that's a very BIG start!

As for the choice in venue, I really don't know how much Amon Amarth have a say in this. It would be the tour managers or the Spanish promotors, I imagine.

However,I know people in here who went to the Bikini venue and found it perfectly adequate, (I wasn't at the concert myself but I've often been to BKN when I lived in Barcelona). Not every band can fill the Palau St Jordi, and frankly, small venues are often great because the atmosphere is amazing!

And you are closer to the band too. Bonus!

Small concert rooms are way cool... (unless its so small that it doesn't have a stage), you're closer to the band, its more "intimate", the sound is often clearer and best of all there are fewer 15 year olds to act like idiots who just got the PS3 for christmas.

edit: AA must be sick of these spanish people complaining when they take to the time to pass by and meet their fans (no disrespect to spanish people intended)... i mean the closest other gig to spain is what? Paris? Fucking far away. A little thank you is the least they should get for that.

My thoughts exactly, i sometimes feel like handing in my passport and asking sanctuary

adelaide (south australia) was quite small but very intimate. enjoyed the gig immensely.

this reminds me of the thread "fans that are angry with amon amarth". haha.

I completely disagree with you.

As I commented in a thread that was already created about Amon Amarth Spanish tour (Amon Amarth in Spain), it was an amazing show... The best show I saw in my life. Has this really been the worst concert in your life? I don't know which kind of concerts are you used to see then, but a concert of Amon Amarth and the word 'bad' can't go together. Never. Do you know why? Because they are good.... As simple as that. Because they are the best. They gave us everything in that concert. It was awesome. And I think that the venue was perfect for the concert... the sound was good, clear... and the concert was very intimate... we were close to the band...

I feel ashamed that they or the other members of this forum take the idea that Spaniards are always complaining about everything... because I feel very proud that they decided to come here...

They did this tour in Spain specially for us. They wanted to come here because they appreciate us... and they came. And I feel deeply thankful to them for that... I will always be thankful to them for coming to my city to give me the best present they could give me: to see and hear them.

Their concert was the best time of my life.... I enjoyed so much!

Well said sister.

And I don't think Spaniards complain about everything. I just happen to believe this woman is a whiny ass :)

As is usual I'll go OT, guess I shold learn and not do it, but hey.

My spannish friend complained about me getting him drunk by forcing him to drink as fast as I did, but I can't remember holding a gun to his head :p

Anyhow, I don't think Spaniards complain about everything, nor do I think all or even most that went to the show are dissapointed, I am quite sure it was a kick-ass show as usual.

I might go to Barcelona this summer, I'll let you all know if they complain or not :p

Nah, I think the Spaniards are pretty much whiners, with the exception of our lovely ladies. :)

Ok, I didn't want to do this, but you have forced me to :heh:

WHY O WHY AM I SO SKINT AFTER XMAS. IT IS SHIT.

WHY DID I HAVE TO MISS THE BARCELONA AMON AMARTH SHOW? HOW CAN I LIVE WITH MYSELF AFTER THIS? I TRUST SONIA AND I TRUST AA AND I HAVE BEEN TO THE BIKINI MYSELF AND I CAN TELL YOU THIS WHINING PERSON DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT, THE ROOM IS FINE, AA ARE THE BEST BAND LIVE AND EVERYTHING BOO HOOO HOOO HOO THE GODS ARE AGAINST ME BLA BLA BLA.

See, we may be whiners but we can take a joke on ocassion :lol::lol:

Even if we have to take the spanked butt off it.

Ok, still in OT territory, but someone else started it and I love it too much.

People in Barcelona may object to you calling them Spanish on the first place, without using the third person. The original post suggests that this person is from around Valencia, but in Spain that's not splitting hairs, nationalism is a biiiig issue.

As for your friend, he/she could be mocking you in a slightly clumsy way. Spaniards lose all sense of what gets lost in translation after the third beer. (well so does everyone else, but Spanish are lightweight drinkers too)

And as someone who has purified her karma by working on the multilingual call centre lines, taking complaints from many countries in Europe (I know who I was, I was an EVIL man in a previous life) Taking complaints from a Spaniard is hard work. But the British style of complaining is by far the most annoying to my ears. Probaby because Spaniards complain out of habit and British mean it!

So... don't put everyone on the same box, because stereotypes are often wrong. But oh so tempting to use, and I milk them for all they are worth... I have already started using my married name when it suits me NOT to be Spanish. Which in this forum, it is becoming more and more common. Poor Sonia, poor me!
