There's a lot of sick, sick DCI drummers who's hands are unbelievable.
You also have to take into consideration that the heads they're playing on are tuned so tight it's like concrete, so a lot of it is rebound action.
The running gag though was always that no matter how great their hands were, you couldn't put a DCI snare drummer/tenor player behind a kit because all they could play was 4/4 rock a la Tommy Lee

dude, even tho the heads are tight, the sticks are heavy and you have to be able to control the bounce veryyyyy well to pull off the stuff he does
and although yes ive witnesses the tommy lee people
, dear god some of them are extremely talented on a whole kit as well. psh, even if they arent, if they started playin on a kit, they would develop so quickly and destroy!
