Silverchair/Powderfinger

When did you see em?
Recently or back in the day?

Yeah... I'm not a massive fan of Powderfinger, but as I said, I wouldn't mind checking them out live cause they do have some rockin songs.

And silverchair... I would love to see em again. Their gig last month was fantastic

I saw Powderfinger at the Riverstage in 2003 and it's still one of the best gigs I've been to. Maybe it's because they were playing to a hometown audience.

I really shouldn't comment on Silverchair, so I won't. I saw them at Luna Park in 1994 though, and Daniel Johns gave me chips.

Those two bands are massive here, aren't they?

Sure are. I have never understood the appeal of Powderfinger. They are the most boring, bland band I have ever heard and Bernard Fannings' solo stuff is a hell of a lot worse.

I would only be interested in hearing Silverchair for the Neon Ballroom stuff but I saw some footage of them live and Daniel Jones' sings in that highly irritating voice these days so I will pass. Im sure a lot of my friends though will be going to see them as they are coming here.

I like Powderfinger, but I never really got into them until Vulture Street.

Shall definitely be going to the show! :headbang: Shall have to catch up on the Silverchair albums I don't have I guess.

I believe last time they were up here it was around 1999/2000. They bill was Silverchair, Grinspoon and Jebediah. I was going to go but I had a death in the family as I recall.

They are actually playing a gig here in my home town of Bendigo which surprises me, so I think I shall attend. It is at the same venue as my first ever gig, which was Silverchair on the Freak Show tour, so it could be cool for that reason.

Powderfinger have lots of great material, I think of them as kind of a better, Australian version of Pearl Jam in a way. I saw them at the BDO in 2005 and they weren't real exciting, but sounded good, so if they do a good set of their stronger material it could be cool.

I am yet to check out both bands latest albums, but I like both singles.

I saw Silverchair and Shihad at the Clipsall 500 a while back, and it was pretty amazing, I must say. Shihad would have been better for me if I knew more of their stuff, but the theatrics and stunts were awesome. Silverchair played all the great songs, and we were the first people to ever hear Straight Lines. My point being that I dont need to see them again.
