Singles??

I see they are releasing it as a single. I thought Superhero was gonna be the first single. Oh well, this is my favorite song so far that I have heard. To bad they did not put one of the new covers they did on with it.

I'm kind of disappointed that Safe Home is going to be the first single (let alone a single at all).

One, of the promo tracks I've heard, it's my least favorite. I didn't like it at first, although it has grown on me. I don't think it's that great of a song.

Two, it's not a very heavy track. While that may ultimately get them more radio play than say "What Doesn't Die", it smells of "selling out", which won't win back some of the older fans that left with Joey, and I don't see it bringing newer fans looking for something heavy either.

Any thoughts?

its a toss up for me between safe home and what doesnt die, latter being heavier but safe home just has something that goes the extra mile!!!

could it be the acdc influence hehehehe,i wouldnt say theer selling out,its about the radio stations actually playing the song, they would hear the opening of what doent die and put it in the backburner where as safe home could really open some doors for them,i will be writing to no 1 radio station in australia which is rock based and i have high hopes of them playing safe home.

ps that song by stone sour is getting played to death hear lol, that song def deserves a grammy as best single of the year!!!

as far as selling out, they would have kept belladonna and sold 5 million records of sown, they chose the hard road which i respect them for highly.

how many bands even survive a change in vocalist???

To me, I think Safe Home is a good choice, because it's a great accessible song and I want these guys to get the success they deserve. True, it's not a heavy song, but we know the album will have some killer heavy songs. It reminds me of some of Scott's comments about Cheap Trick. They wrote pop songs, but they were GOOD pop songs. Safe Home isn't necessarily a pop song, but it's still great, and I would love to hear it on my local rock radio instead of fucking Nickelback, Incubus, or Staind. If people want to accuse them of selling out, fine, but I think they're being close-minded because we've heard What Doesn't Die and from all accounts Black Dhalia is gonna be brutal. I like the idea of drawing people in with Safe Home then kicking them in the ass with something heavy for the next single.

They wouldn't have sold any more records w/ Belladonna in the group man. Trust me, I live thru that era. It wasn't like anyone in the mainstream knew who he was anyway. If anything Bush helped get SoWN to gold just because of the all of the press they got for switching lead singers.

Mr Thrax - is that Triple H you're gonna get into playing Safe Home - let me know the address you write to and I'll do the same, bro.

I reakon the J's audience will lap it up hopefully.

I'm with bRaT.
They need to get exposed.

I also think they wouldn't have sold more records with Joey.
With John in the band they sound more complete, and well rounded.

alot of fans didnt take kindly to the change of vocalist i am glad they did but i still think that they would have hit the bigtime if belladonna was in for sown.

The safe home artwork rules.

Trust me, living here in the States when it happened, no one gave a god damned about Joey, fans who were making Megadeth, Pantera, White Zombie, Slayer, and Testament go gold at that time in that milieu were like "about god damned time they got a real singer." I saw White Zombie on the last night of thier tour opening for Megadeth/Pantera, and they asked the crowd which Anthrax they liked better. 7,000 people resounding gave SoWN a rip roar of approval. Plus changing lead singers generated alot of press that SoWN may not have gotten. Believe me dude, no one a rat's ass about Joey.
